A little about me

I am a terrestrial ecosystem ecologist focused on the effects of different global change drivers on biogeochemistry, ecosystem functioning, and atmosphere-plant-soil-microbe interactions. Due to the multiple dimensions of those effects, I have been involved in studies carried out in different types of ecosystems (from drylands to polar areas), using different time (from short- to long-term studies) and spatial scales (from local to global), and embracing observational and experimental scientific approaches.

I have worked at 7 different research institutions in Spain, USA, Brazil and Portugal. Currently, I work at the Misión Biológica de Galicia (Pontevedra, Spain) and co-lead the Biogeochemistry and Global Change Lab.
